This course will provide you with knowledge and confidence to advise and treat women before, during and after menopause within your working environment. It is aimed at healthcare professionals who primarily work in the field of women’s health, including doctors, nurses or pharmacists. The course provides the theory component of the FSRH menopause special skills training module. Clinical training and assessment of competence can lead to the ‘Certificate in Menopause Care of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
The medical course organiser is Dr Sarah Gray, who has developed this training programme since its inception in 2003. She is a GP and previously the Clinical Lead for the Menopause Service in Cornwall. She is an accredited Faculty Registered Primary Trainer in Menopause. Dr Gray will be joined by Dr Jane Davis, who is also a GP and Primary Trainer in Menopause. Jane holds the BMS/FSRH Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care and was originally trained by Sarah. Additional experienced clinicians will be available for discussion and to answer questions throughout the two days.
